Beginning in January, log cabins designed and manufactured by Southland Log Homes will be featured on the National Geographic channel’s “Building Wild” television program.  The program, hosted by Paulie DiMeo of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, follows the construction of dreamed-of log cabins in wild settings.

The first episode featuring a Southland log cabin is scheduled to air on January 28.  It tells the story of the construction of a cabin, situated in a beautiful Vermont mountain setting, which is capable of rotating 360 degrees so that the owners can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset from their porch.  The ability to rotate the cabin allows it to be positioned to optimize solar heating benefits as well.

“Southland Log Homes is pleased to be associated with National Geographic’s “Building Wild” program,” said Ken Sekley, President and CEO of Southland.  “The program does an excellent job of illustrating the versatility and flexibility that is possible in the design of a Southland log home.”
