The Jennings have been dealers for Southland Log Homes since 1991. They live and work from home in Clarklake , Michigan.
In a letter dated April 28th, 2006 the Jennings wrote:
"We became a Southland Log Home Dealer 14 years ago. We had been looking at building a log home for years. One Sunday morning we were reading the paper and saw a picture of a Southland Log Home in a Glidden Paint advertisement. It was exactly what we wanted to build so we called the number and liked everything they had to offer. We drove to South Carolina the following weekend and purchased our home. That was in 1990. The first home we sold was delivered one year after we took delivery of our home.
Our home was delivered in May of 1991 and we use it for a model. We have sold 107 homes and have made a lot of great friends…. And money too! At the time we started we both had full-time jobs and just worked on the log home business at night and on weekends. After a few years it became evident that one of us needed to quit our day job to concentrate on the log home business. In the beginning we just sold the packages and worked with the customer if they wanted to be an owner builder or we helped them find a builder. A few years ago we started offering a complete package by selling the package and by being a General Contractor.
Working with the Southland Log Home team members at Irmo and Elliston has been very rewarding. Together we have incorporated ideas into our log home packages to make the very best product available to past, present and future customers. We enjoy our “day job” selling and building Southland Log Homes.
