Southland Log Homes, provider of America’s Favorite Log Home™, is pleased to announce that the Featured Log Home Plan of the Month is the Florence, a design produced in collaboration with Donald A. Gardner Architects. Images and floor plans for the Florence can be found at the company’s web site, www.southlandloghomes.com. Donald A. Gardner Architects is a leading provider of house plans that incorporate unique custom features in a diversity of styles and a broad range of square footages. Their designs are routinely featured in fine magazines such as Southern Living™ and Better Homes and Gardens™.

The featuring of the Florence is the latest in a series of recent events highlighting the design capabilities of Southland Log Homes. In November, the company announced a new agreement with The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, the former home of early twentieth century designer Gustav Stickley. Stickley was a major proponent of the American Arts and Crafts movement, which emphasized the value and beauty of well-crafted design that used natural materials and was in harmony with the environment. Southland and The Stickley Museum will work together to develop a portfolio of Arts and Crafts-inspired log home designs, which will be marketed and manufactured by Southland.

Also in November, Southland Log Homes was the recipient of the Outstanding Model Award as part of the 2011 Excellence in Home Design program sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

“We are pleased that Southland’s design excellence is being widely recognized”, said Ken Sekley, CEO of Southland Log Homes. “Southland prides itself on designing log homes that meet the personalized needs of our customers, while also incorporating the best features of classic home design, as well as the latest in modern, sustainable building approaches.”
